What Classes Can You Play in CoM?

What role do you wish to play in the land of M'Dhoria? The kind of role that you will eventually make for yourself will depend largely on the class that you will choose when you create your character. Your class will determine what skills you can use, what spells you can cast, what armor you can wear, among other factors. Your roleplay will especially be affected by the class you choose to play.

What classes can you play in Cities of M'Dhoria? The game currently has 14 classes available.

Barbarian

Through the rugged struggle to survive in the world's wildlands, the barbarians of the lands have become dangerous combatants.  While they lack the martial discipline of a warrior, barbarians are instinctive fighters with the axe and mace.  In addition to their wild fighting skills, barbarians are hardy survivalists, able to make use of nature to conceal or heal.  As a direct result, they have mastered the ability to delay the
effects of pain and to endure even under the hardest of battles.  While there are some barbarians that fit the image of primitive, thickheaded
berserkers, there are many that possess the sharp reflexes and sense that one develops when forced to survive in a hostile environment.

Battlemage

Battlemages are skilled warrior-mages, possessing both martial prowess as well as powerful magic.  Wielding swords in addition to lighter weapons, battlemages make extensive use of melee skills such as kicking and tripping. Additonally, they can conjure unique defenses and destructive offensive magic.  The seasoned battlemage can craft mystical weapons, seal areas through magic, and bring a ceasefire to fights.  Battlemages are a welcome asset to any fighting force, and experienced battlemages are not uncommonly found among the elite of any army.

Cleric

The missionary of the faithful, clerics are the bearers of the word of their god as well as able practitioners of holistic medicine and the healing arts.  Skilled orators, thinkers, and philosophers, clerics are known for living their sermons as they go about their life's work.  As the spokesmen of their faith, clerics are faithful and pious folk who seek to invest everyone they meet with the lessons they have gained from a lifetime of meditation and study.  The clerics work closely with the faithful, acting as their advisors and spiritual mentors as they protect the congregation and citizens to whom the clerics minister.  Like their associates in in their religions, the personalities of clerics vary widely, from the gentle and introspective speakers, to fiery, impassioned preachers who vehemently bring the word to the people.

Druid

The first druids learned to embrace the natural magic of the woodlands from the dryads, satyrs, and the hylsiriyu and dedicated themselves to protecting and nurturing the nature they loved.  However, the philosophy of living in harmony with nature diverged into many others over the years, with some druids exploiting the magic of nature for their own benefit with little respect for balance.  Druids still make use of skills derived from the natural surroundings: elemental magic, command of beasts, and herblore.  As talented mages, druids are able to conjure storms, summon elemental beasts, and create natural defenses.  While many druids thrive in the wilds alongside rangers, it is not uncommon for them to seek other places where their art may prove useful.

Enchanter

Enchanters are mages specializing in the alteration of objects and people.  They are unique in their ability to empower weapons and armor with enchantments that increase protection and enhance combat effectiveness.  A valued addition to a fighting force, enchanters are adept at weaving spells to protect and hasten their allies while weakening and hindering their opponents.  While enchanters do not begin as the most powerful of combatants, they gradually learn powerful offensive and defensive magic that enable them to become formidable adversaries.

Knight

(Application Only)

The Knights Templar were an order long thought to have passed into the epochs of history.  Originally founded in distant ages past, the knights
were an elite force of warriors dedicated to the pursuits of peace, order, and law.  As time passed, fewer and fewer stood forth to take up their cause, and it was generally thought the knights had faded into history.

Although the Order of the Knights Templar is long dead, knights have once more begun to establish themselves as a dominant force for peace in the world.  Knights are holy warriors, commanding both fighting skill and priestly magic.  Dedicating their lives to the pursuits of peace and order, knights stand as the dogged protectors of their chosen homeland and selflessly defend the less fortunate against evil and injustice.  Knights are all of good persuasion, with personalities ranging from kind, quiet, and tolerant to those who are dogmatic and iconoclastic.  All share the common goal of purging the world of evil and standing sentry against any who would seek to spread evil and darkness.

Necromancer

Necromancers are the masters of death and unlife, using their black arts to spread suffering and destruction.  These skilled mages are capable of animating hosts of undead servants, inflicting magical infirmities, and summoning hordes of demons.  Necromancers deal heavily with the dead whether embalming fallen bodies or raising fallen spirits.  Universally evil, necromancers are cruel, calculating individuals wholly dedicated to the study of death, the infliction of torment, and the spread of decay.

Ranger

As masters of the natural environment, rangers are skilled fighters who make good use of what the wilds provide.  Their combat skills are
formidable, rivaling those of warriors with their adeptness at surprise attacks, camouflage, and weapons training.  Out in fields and forests,
rangers can travel with little physical strain and make use of the environment by commanding animals, gathering herbs, and fletching arrows.
While personal philosophies may vary, with some who exploit the bounties of nature and others who wish to protect them, rangers are all highly skilled at tracking, hunting, and negotiating terrain.

Reaver

(Application Only)

Reavers began rising only recently in the world's history as a dangerous force.  The first reavers appeared among the ranks of the siriyu and the dagahasi, born into the group rather than taught by any school or guild.  It was originally believed that reavers were some unique twisting of siriyu and dagahasi bloodlines until reavers began appearing in other races as well.

The reaver's power is an innate form of necromancy that grows in power as he or she pursues bloodshed, violence, and chaos.  It is rumored that every talent reavers possess is with them at birth and slowly unlocked as they hone their skills in death and destruction.  The very power they wield is a magnet for the evils in the world as swarms of maggots and vermin can been seen in their wake, drawn to the reavers as a moth to the flame.

A typical reaver is highly skilled in weapons and combat and commands a variety of innate magical abilities.  Universally evil, Reavers revel in
their blessing as harsh, unyielding souls who carve out a bloody place in the world with a passion that is both revolting and fearsome.

Shaman

Hailing from harsh and inhospitable environments, shamans have developed aggressive and, oftentimes, dark methods in dealing with their enemies.  Unlike necromancers whose specialty lie with raising the dead, and clerics, who are focused on healing the living, shamans take a middling approach and prefer to actively straddle the divide between the spirit and mortal realms where they are able to dabble in both.  Drawing strength from themselves, the spirit realm, and the natural environment, shamans find themselves playing multiple roles for their chosen communities, where they are often called upon to act as medicine men and spiritual guides, mediators, and fighters.  In addition to their command of powerful curses and hexes, their knowledge of herb lore and its effects on the mind and the mortal body give a distinctly colorful edge to their already eclectic skills.

Shifter

A group of mages with ancient roots that transcend normal magic, shifters engage in the dangerous art of energy and spatial
manipulation.  Shifters tap into the ambient energy around them to form offensive spells, create wormholes from one part of the world to another, and attune themselves to the minds and thoughts of others.  Though at times appearing more as hermits, these mages have learned the various arts of magical persuasion and distortion, fine-tuning them as weapons to protect themselves and their space.

Thief

As sly and stealthy tricksters, thieves can thrive in nearly any environment but tend to frequent the cities, pilfering from passersby.
Skilled in lockpicking, trapsetting, and theft, thieves exercise their skills on both sides of the law; while some rob and swindle beneath public
notice, others serve their governments as informants and spies.  While thieves are adept with knife and whip, most can only manage brief tussles and prefer to run and hide until danger passes.  Their mindsets and personalities vary greatly, ranging from the noble robber stealing from the wealthy to the lawless cutthroat targeting any unfortunate who crosses his path.  Most law-abiding citizens and governments will deal harshly with the thieves they manage to catch, but there will always be those who believe the rewards great enough to outweigh such risks.

Vagabond

Nomadic, resourceful wanderers seeking to find their own place in the world, vagabonds are known for dabbling in the ways of the rogue, the mage, and the warrior.  Adept at stealth and theft, vagabonds can wield light weapons and cast magic to confound those seeking to hinder their freebooting ways.  Although vagabonds possess a wide range of skills, their fighting and spellcasting abilities pale in comparison to those of seasoned warriors and learned mages.  Vagabonds possess a diverse array of mentalities, with some living as harmless wandering minstrels and others preying upon innocent travelers as bands of bloodthirsty cutthroats.

Warrior

Master of weaponry, combat, and tactics, the warrior is an individual highly trained and versatile in a variety of forms of battle.  Any weapon in a warrior's hands becomes an instrument of destruction guided by one with detailed knowledge of how to obtain the most desirable effects in battle.  While most every adventurer in the land knows self-defense and combat, warriors have trained themselves extensively in techniques that those less dedicated could never hope to learn, elevating the concepts of combat and melee to an art form few other disciplines can duplicate.
