Wielding swords in addition to lighter weapons, battlemages make extensive use of melee skills such as kicking and tripping. Additonally, they can conjure unique defenses and destructive offensive magic. The seasoned battlemage can craft mystical weapons, seal areas through magic, and bring a ceasefire to fights. Battlemages are a welcome asset to any fighting force, and experienced battlemages are not uncommonly found among the elite of any army.

The missionary of the faithful, clerics are the bearers of the word of their god as well as able practitioners of holistic medicine and the healing arts. Skilled orators, thinkers, and philosophers, clerics are known for living their sermons as they go about their life's work. As the spokesmen of their faith, clerics are faithful and pious folk who seek to invest everyone they meet with the lessons they have gained from a lifetime of meditation and study. The clerics work closely with the faithful, acting as their advisors and spiritual mentors as they protect the congregation and citizens to whom the clerics minister. Like their associates in in their religions, the personalities of clerics vary widely, from the gentle and introspective speakers, to fiery, impassioned preachers who vehemently bring the word to the people.

The first druids learned to embrace the natural magic of the woodlands from the dryads, satyrs, and the hylsiriyu and dedicated themselves to protecting and nurturing the nature they loved. However, the philosophy of living in harmony with nature diverged into many others over the years, with some druids exploiting the magic of nature for their own benefit with little respect for balance. Druids still make use of skills derived from the natural surroundings: elemental magic, command of beasts, and herblore. As talented mages, druids are able to conjure storms, summon elemental beasts, and create natural defenses. While many druids thrive in the wilds alongside rangers, it is not uncommon for them to seek other places where their art may prove useful.

They are unique in their ability to empower weapons and armor with enchantments that increase protection and enhance combat effectiveness. A valued addition to a fighting force, enchanters are adept at weaving spells to protect and hasten their allies while weakening and hindering their opponents. While enchanters do not begin as the most powerful of combatants, they gradually learn powerful offensive and defensive magic that enable them to become formidable adversaries.

These skilled mages are capable of animating hosts of undead servants, inflicting magical infirmities, and summoning hordes of demons. Necromancers deal heavily with the dead whether embalming fallen bodies or raising fallen spirits. Universally evil, necromancers are cruel, calculating individuals wholly dedicated to the study of death, the infliction of torment, and the spread of decay.

Hailing from harsh and inhospitable environments, shamans have developed aggressive and, oftentimes, dark methods in dealing with their enemies. Unlike necromancers whose specialty lie with raising the dead, and clerics, who are focused on healing the living, shamans take a middling approach and prefer to actively straddle the divide between the spirit and mortal realms where they are able to dabble in both. Drawing strength from themselves, the spirit realm, and the natural environment, shamans find themselves playing multiple roles for their chosen communities, where they are often called upon to act as medicine men and spiritual guides, mediators, and fighters. In addition to their command of powerful curses and hexes, their knowledge of herb lore and its effects on the mind and the mortal body give a distinctly colorful edge to their already eclectic skills.

Nomadic, resourceful wanderers seeking to find their own place in the world, vagabonds are known for dabbling in the ways of the rogue, the mage, and the warrior. Adept at stealth and theft, vagabonds can wield light weapons and cast magic to confound those seeking to hinder their freebooting ways. Although vagabonds possess a wide range of skills, their fighting and spellcasting abilities pale in comparison to those of seasoned warriors and learned mages. Vagabonds possess a diverse array of mentalities, with some living as harmless wandering minstrels and others preying upon innocent travelers as bands of bloodthirsty cutthroats.

Master of weaponry, combat, and tactics, the warrior is an individual highly trained and versatile in a variety of forms of battle. Any weapon in a warrior's hands becomes an instrument of destruction guided by one with detailed knowledge of how to obtain the most desirable effects in battle. While most every adventurer in the land knows self-defense and combat, warriors have trained themselves extensively in techniques that those less dedicated could never hope to learn, elevating the concepts of combat and melee to an art form few other disciplines can duplicate.
